As a professional blogger, I have some specific goals this year that I already set for me. But I never published my personal goals on my blog before. There are some reasons for that.

Actually, I was not very much active on my blog before. The main reason was – I was mostly occupied by my main job software development and got little time to spare for my blog.

Nevertheless, my Bogging Journey was Good so far – it was rather Impressive

I wrote nearly hundreds of blog posts or articles on my blog – most of them were not bad and ranked at the top 5 on Google even for the most competitive keywords.

They are still bringing fair amount of targeted traffic to my blog everyday and most importantly they are bringing fair amount of money every month for me. It’s not bad – right?

Regular comments on my blog suggest that I am not a bad writer as well. My readers are satisfied by the quality of the content of my blog posts and they want more from me. It gives me the rare satisfaction of being able to contribute something to my community.

Above facts actually prove that I know blogging quite a bit and I can improve my performance as a professional blogger quite easily if I invest some time in it.

That’s why I decided something different This Year

This year I made an adjustment to shift my focus significantly to my blog and wanted to invest more time in it. I made up my mind to delegate a significant part of my software development workload to my team and manage some free time to work on my blog and strengthen my blogger entity.

The main reason for making this new shift is that I am influenced by some of the great bloggers like Darren Rowse, Yaro Starak, Brian Clark, Seth Godin and many experienced and young smart bloggers across the globe. It’s not possible for me to mention all the names here.

All of them have massive fan following and their contribution to professional blogging and online business is enormous.

Actually I was interested in online business mainly by two wonderful guys long time back when they were in their early online careers. They were Shawn Casey and Frank Kern. There were some other big names like Terry Dean, Yanik Silver, Jay Abraham etc. But that time I was not able to invest significant time in online business.

I am influenced by all of them for not just the big money they make each month but for the contributions they make to the online community.

Many young fresh people as well as experienced people from different industries, different backgrounds are coming forward to take blogging and online business seriously and becoming successful online entrepreneurs.

As I have some sort of knowledge and online experience why don’t I share that experience to the people?

This is the question that made me take this decision.

That’s why I am serious now, serious about blogging, serious about making some sort of contribution to this online society, serious about earning good amount of money from it.

From the last statement, you might have misunderstood me. You might have a notion that contributing to the society is reciprocal to making money for yourself.

But, practically speaking – when you make a good amount of money everyday, every month, and every year from your work and your contribution – only then you can prove your worth.

Money shows that you Know what you Talk

Money shows the standard of your success. It provides the best testimonial of your work. It assures that you are able to impress others and that’s why your work sells. It proves that you are following the right path and doing the right thing and that’s why you are making money.

Most importantly people will listen to you because they will understand the money is the outcome of your good work. They will believe that you know what you talk.

Making money from your work signifies that you are successful. People will see your success, watch your growth and follow what you share with them.

Success comes Automatically when you Achieve your Goals

Success requires some commitments – commitments to execute some predefined day-to-day tasks. Those tasks when finished in a defined sequence give you some kind of expected results. A set of results when combined logically makes you reach a milestone or a goal that you want to achieve.

How do you Identify those Tasks?

If you want to identify those day-to-day tasks, you have to identify your realistic goals. Goal is not just the dream of making million of dollars in a year without even knowing how to earn thousand dollars in a month.

Setting Realistic Goals that is Achievable

Goals are the milestones that you wish to achieve in a certain period of time by making it possible to achieve.

So, set some realistic goals for you, and make plans to achieve your goals in certain period of time. Planning is nothing but breaking up your goals into the lowest possible number of tasks arranged in proper logical steps.

It might sound heavy, but it is not that much complicated if you are serious about it.

If you are reading this post till now, I will not make you wait any more. Here are my goals for this year.

The Goals that I Set for Me this New Year

These are only my blogging goals that I already told you. These goals don’t include the goals for my other major activities i.e. software development.

If you keep on reading this post till the end, you will notice that I didn’t set unrealistic goals for me.

Goal 1: Write at least 2 posts per week on my blog – i.e. 8 posts per month

Yes, I want to write 8 top quality articles for my blog readers in a month. I will surely want to write more posts but I don’t want to set any unrealistic goals that I might not fulfill in any case. First, I need to achieve my realistic goals.

I know many bloggers write at least one post per day or more than that. It is because of the fact that they are fulltime bloggers or they have appointed other bloggers to write for them.

In my view quality always wins, not the quantity.

Goal 2: Write only quality articles for my readers relevant to my blog niches

I want to restrict myself as a professional blogger who writes only on the topics relevant to my blog. Those are the topics about blogging, online entrepreneurship and all aspects of online business. These are my current niches of my blog. So, I don’t want to cross my limit.

Goal 3: Write at least 6 quality posts in a month for the benefit of my readers

In one of my previous blog posts I wrote an article about how to write premium blog content. I want to provide that kind of content to my blog readers. I am confidant that articles of this quality will have a positive effect on my blog. I hope my blog readers will enjoy reading them.

Goal 4: Write at least 2 posts in a month that will bring best possible money for me

Yes, money is absolutely essential for a blog or a blogger to survive. I already told that. In my mind, money is one of the topmost motivating factors that drives you do better, work harder and earn respect from others. I don’t want to ignore it in any circumstances.

But making money from your blog is not an easy job at all. It depends on many factors like quality of content, SEO, marketing, traffic, number of readers, number of subscribers, referrals and many other technical things. I don’t want to elaborate those things here.

Goal 5: Start creating Audio and Video posts

I am not at all comfortable in public speaking. That’s why I always preferred to work sitting at my desk. Conversation with your team members is different but public speaking is a nightmare to me.

But I need to take this challenge positively to diversify my content and explore new channels to grow.

I decided that I would take the advantage and my experience of addressing classes and product presentation skills in this regard.

Goal 6: Connect with respected bloggers and online entrepreneurs

Yes, this time I will definitely do it. As of now I didn’t take blogging seriously for the time constraint though I wrote plenty of quality articles that are still bringing a respected amount of targeted traffic to my blog everyday.

Though my blogging frequency was not high, but I regularly visit all respected blogs I know, read their articles and learn many important aspects of blogging, get inspiration from them and study technical aspects to keep me updated.

But this year I want to connect with them to make good personal rapport.

Though I have good relationship with some of the top bloggers and online marketers of the world but I want to be known personally with other respected probloggers and enthusiastic young online entrepreneurs too.

I believe this kind of relationships make me feel better, help me get more confidence and enrich my career as a blogger.

Goal 7: Maintain a right balance between the content and monetization

I know that just grabbing all possible monetizing opportunities is not good for a quality blog. It might seriously hurt my reputation. I have to be careful while selecting products and services that I offer to my blog readers.

They should be of highest standard, suitable and relevant to my readers’ want, and most importantly help them grow. This could be a brain storming process for me.

The best offer to my people could be those products or services that I personally use, get best possible responses and deserve automatic recommendations.

Goal 8: Be socially active to make relationship with like-minded people

Yes, it’s true that I am not active social networking user till date. But now, I want to be an aggressive social networking user not exactly for just promoting my blog or products or services that I affiliated to.

I want to use social networks to come closer to the people, share personal thoughts with them and make good relationships. That’s why I already created my Facebook like page and iFrame application on it and want to promote it for my blog readers too.

So, all of the combinations might be my best possible arsenals for increasing number of subscribers rapidly.

Goal 10: Earn a certain amount of money that ensures me living online

I already earn money from my blog on a regular basis but I want to increase my earning to a level that make me feel confidant, comfortable and get enough motivation to do better, work harder.

I am not telling you that I want to make one million of dollars from my blog this year. But I want to earn an amount of money, which is sufficient for the living of my family although I own a software development business and it is giving me well enough for my living.

But in any profession, earning your family living is considered to be a benchmark. At least my effort should be able to achieve that benchmark.

In this year my aim of earning is $5000 a month for the next twelve months. I hope this is a realistic goal that I should achieve to survive as a blogger without compromising my living standard.

Conclusion:

I know my goals are not attractive. They don’t have any hype. They don’t create any buzz. They are not even complete. There are so many things that I missed here.

But these are the simple goals that I primarily want to achieve as a professional blogger and make a simple but solid foundation to move forward as a professional blogger.

These are the projections for my blogger entity for this year. I want to get as close as possible to these projections.

If I fail to meet my target, there will be no regret from my part. If I go beyond that I will be happy. What I really wish – make something Valuable, contribute something Acceptable and become someone Respectable.

But, in this blog post, my intention is to produce a comprehensive step-by-step, screen-by-screen tutorial on how to add your blog feed to custom Facebook landing page so that you understand the technique and easily add your own blog feed to your own custom-made Facebook landing page.

It is the third part of the tutorial in this series – Complete Customization of Facebook Landing Page with Apps.

So, whatever steps I put down here in this tutorial may not work in the future and it should be acceptable to all of us unless and until you ignore Facebook. This tutorial is published here is expected to be effective from October 2011 anticipating the changes made by Facebook till date.

Before proceeding to any of the following steps you need to have a Facebook account, otherwise there is no use of this tutorial.

Step 1:

1. Login into your Facebook account and go to your custom-made Facebook landing page. You will be in a page like Fig. 1.

2. Click the button Edit Page at the top right corner of the page.

Step 2.

Now you are in a page like Fig. 2.

1. Click the link Apps at the left hand side of the page.

Step 3.

Now you are in a page like Fig. 3.

Here you will find all default Facebook Added Apps available to you. Here you will need to work with application Notes.

1. Click the link Edit Settings at the bottom of the application Notes.

Step 4.

A pop up window Edit Notes Settings will appear. It will look like Fig. 4.

1. Click the link Additional permissions.

Step 5.

The popup window that appears will look like Fig. 5.

To enable your landing page’s Wall display your blog’s feed you will need to select the option Publish content to my Wall if it is not selected.

1. Select the option Publish content to my Wall.

2. Click the button Okay.

Step 6.

Now you will be back to your Facebook Added Apps page just like Fig. 6.

1. Click the link Go to App at the bottom of the application Notes.

Step 7.

Now you are in a page Notes of your Facebook landing page. It will look like Fig. 7.

1. Click the link Edit import settings at the left bottom of the page.

Step 8.

Now you are in Import a blog page. It will look like Fig. 8.

This is the page where you can import your own blog. It will enable your Facebook landing page Wall to display your blog post.

1. Enter the atom or RSS feed URL of your blog in the text box Web URL.

2. Select the option By entering a URL, you represent that you have the right to permit us to reproduce this content on the Facebook site and that the content is not obscene or illegal.

3. Click the button Start Importing. It will immediately start importing your blog feed.

Step 9.

Now you are in a page that will look like Fig. 9. In this page you will be able to see the preview of your blog feed.

1. Click the button Confirm to confirm the importing of your blog feed.

Here Facebook declares that they will check your blog feed every couple of hours for new posts that you have made.

It essentially means that Facebook is always looking for your new blog posts and whenever you update your blog with a new post, your Facebook page will automatically get updated.

The page is your Facebook landing page’s Notes. It will look like Fig. 10.This page will show your current blog entries.

If you see the example shown in Fig. 10, you will find that it is my landing page – Debabrata welcomes you’ Notes. Here my current blog posts are displayed.

In this page, you have to do nothing.

Step 10.

1. Now, open your own Facebook landing page by pasting the URL on the address bar of your browser.

2. Click the link Wall at the left hand side of your Facebook landing page.

You will be in a page, which will look like Fig. 11. Here you will find that the Wall of your landing page that will contain your latest blog posts.

Thanks you for your patience. It’s all done. If you are following the steps described in this tutorial, you already added your blog feed to your Facebook landing page. Your blog posts will be displayed on the wall of your Facebook landing page.

When people view your Facebook page, they will be able to see your current blog entries on the Wall. It will improve people’s engagement on your Facebook page, increase your popularity by accepting better promotional opportunity of your online activities through one of the best social networking sites.

What is iFrame?

iFrame or inline frame is an html tag that allows you to load separate web document into an existing web document. An iFrame can be placed anywhere in parent document. CSS, Javascript can be used to manipulate its properties such as its position and size.

What is Facebook iFrame App?

A Facebook iFrame app or application is placed on your Facebook landing page and through this app you are allowed to embed an external web page or web application into your Facebook page. You can build your iFrame application using any language or tools that supports web programming such as PHP, Java or C#.

The concept is …

• Create your own Facebook page. You may call it your Facebook landing page if you want people to land on it.
• Create a Facebook iFrame app and add it to your Facebook landing page.
• Create a web page on your own website that should encourage people to like you.
• Populate your web page into your Facebook iFrame app by calling its URL from your iFrame app.
• As your Facebook landing page has an iFrame app on it and this app populates your web page, therefore your web page content will be visible to people on your Facebook landing page through your iFrame app.

I think… the concept is clear to you. Now lets go straight to the topic today.

In this post I am going to show you step-by-step how to create an iFrame app on your Facebook landing page so that you can easily create your own iFrame app within minutes.

How to create iFrame App for your Custom Facebook Landing Page?

1. Create your custom Facebook landing page.

Step 2:

1. Login into your Facebook account. You will be in a page like Fig. 1.

2. Go to the bottom of the page and click the link Developer.

Step 3:

Now you will be in a page like Fig. 2.

1. Click the link Apps at the top middle of the page.

Step 4:

Now you will be in a page like Fig. 3.

1. Click the button + Create New App at the top right corner of the page.

Step 5:

It’s a pop up window looks like Fig. 4. Creation of your new Facebook app starts here.

1. Enter the name of your application in the textbox App Name.

In this example I entered appjoinme as my application name simply because it is an application and I want it to be used by users, who want to join me.

2. Select your language from the options given in Locale.

3. Agree to the terms and conditions provided by Facebook by clicking the checkbox called I agree to Facebook Terms.

4. Press the button Continue.

Step 6:

It is another pop up window (Fig. 5), which is used by Facebook for security checking.

1. Enter the security text visible to you in the text box called Text in the box.

2. Press the button Submit.

Step 7:

This is a page (Fig. 6) where you need to provide two sets of information.

1. Enter basic information of your application such as Application Display Name, App Namespace, Contact email, Category and a sub category.

In this example, the application display name is appjoinme, which was already entered in Step 5.

Now, you need to select those options from the list depending on how your app integrates with Facebook.com.

2. Select two options – App on Facebook and Page Tab.

In this example, I selected the same options. I selected option App on Facebook as I wanted to build an app on Facebook. I selected another option called Page Tab because I wanted to build a custom app tab or application tab on my Facebook landing page, which I already created and described step-by-step in my previous blog post.

Here you have other two options – Website and Mobile and Devices. In this example, I am not selecting them because I don’t want to use them in this demo example. So you can ignore them too.

3. Click the button Save Changes.

Step 8:

Step 8 is an important step. Here you are in a page (Fig. 7) where you need to provide few important inputs for your Facebook application. They are Canvas URL, Secure Canvas URL, Page Tab Name, Page Tab URL and Secure Page Tab URL.

1. Enter your canvas URL in the text box Canvas URL.

A canvas is basically a blank container within Facebook on which your iFrame application or web application runs.

You need to create your web page or application or content using any programming language or tools that supports HTML, Javascripts, CSS, PHP and place it on your own website.

In this example, I created an web page index.php and uploaded it in a folder called npmfacebook of my website for my Facebook app. Therefore, the URL of my index.php is http://www.netprofitmagic.com/npmfacebook/. I have entered this URL as my Canvas URL because I want this web page to be populated on my iFrame app.

We don’t need to write the URL as http://www.netprofitmagic.com/npmfacebook/index.php. When Facebook finds the folder npmfacebook on my website it will automatically pull the content index.php to my iFrame app.

Here you need to remember two things about Canvas and it’s URL.

• You are asked to save your web content in a PHP file. If you save it as HTML file, it will not work.
• The maximum width of  your web content must be 520 pixels otherwise it will be truncated.

2. Now enter your secured canvas URL in the text box called Secure Canvas URL.

The concept is – Keep a copy of your web page for your iFrame app in a secured folder of your website. Otherwise, users on HTTPS visit your Facebook app will not be able to see it. So, you need to upload a copy of web content and all its images into a secured folder of your website and enter its address as your secure canvas URL. In this case, the URL of your web content starts with https://… From October 2011 onwards it is required.

3. Enter your page tab name in the textbox named Page Tab Name.

Page tab name is the title of your Facebook iFrame app that your users actually see. In this example, my iFrame app name is appjoinme and I would like my users find it as Join Me. So, I put Join Me as my Page Tab Name.

4. Enter your Page Tab URL.

Page Tab URL is the URL of your website content, and it will be pulled from your website to load on your Facebook page when users visit your app tab or application tab. This URL is the same as your canvas URL.

5. Enter Secure Page Tab URL.

Secure Page Tab URL is exactly your Secure Canvas URL. It is the URL of your secured web content, which will be pulled from your website to load on Facebook when users on HTTPS visit your app tab or application tab. It is going to be a required field from October 2011 onwards.

6. Keep the text box Page Tab Edit URL blank.

This is not required until and unless you authorize some one else to admin your Facebook app. This URL is basically the URL given to your page admins to edit or customize their page tab app.

7. Press the button Save Changes.

Step 9:

Now you are in a page, which is as similar as Fig. 8.

1. Click the link View App Profile Page at the left hand side of your page.

Step 10:

Now you are in a page just like Fig. 9. In this page, you can see the name of your app at the top of the page. In this example, it is my app appjoinme.

1. Click the link Add To My Page at the left hand side of the page.

Step 11.

It is a pop up window just like Fig.10.

Here you need to select the Facebook page that you created previously (See my previous blog post) on which your iFrame app will load. In this tutorial you already learned how to create that iFrame app.

In this example, I am creating an app callled appjoinme. You already know that. I am creating it for my Facebook page Debabrata welcomes you, which I described step-by-step in my previous blog post. So, I selected the page Debabrata welcomes you as my page where I add my current app appjoinme.

In Fig.10, you can see that there is list of pages. It is because of the fact that I created a few pages on my Facebook account. If you created only one page there will be one item in the list. So, don’t be confused.

1. Select the appropriate page from the left column and click the corresponding button Add to Page at the right.

Step 12:

Now you are in a page like Fig. 11.

1. Click the button Edit App at the top right corner of the page.

Step 13:

Here you are in a page like Fig. 12. In this page you will be able to edit many settings of your app like App Information, App Settings, Wall Settings, Contact Importers, Mobile etc. But, you need to edit one setting now.

1. Click the link Edit under App Information.

Step 14:

You are in a page just like Fig. 13. Here you can see the summary of your Facebook iFrame app. There is another field called Access Token, which prompts you to click a link within it to grant permission to your app to get an access token.

1. Click the link need to grant permissions in the field called Access Token.

Step 15:

Here you are in a pop up window, which is similar to Fig. 14. It tells you that the access token of your Facebook app created.

1. Click the button OK.

The page where you reached looks like Fig. 15.

This page showed that creation of your own Facebook app has been completed. It displays your app name at the top left corner and the summary of it’s settings on the middle part of the page.

In this page you don’t have anything to do.

Step 16:

1. Just copy the URL of your custom Facebook landing page that you created with the help of my previous tutorial.

I think you kept your Facebook landing page URL in a safe document after creating it. If you did not, and want to create it now, then keep it safe for your further use. Just copy the URL and paste it on the address bar of your browser or simply write it down on the address bar of your browser.

Alternatively, you can find your own Facebook page tab at the left hand side of your Facebook home page. You can go to your homepage by clicking the link Home at the top of any of your Facebook pages or you just log out and login into your Facebook account to view your Facebook homepage.

Here I directly typed the URL of my Facebook page Debabrata welcomes you at the address bar of the browser. The page will look like Fig. 16.

Here in this Fig. 16, you can see my Facebook page Debabrata welcomes you. If you go to your own Facebook page, you will find similar things on it.

2. Click the button Edit Page at the top right corner of the page.

Step 17:

Now you are in a page, which is similar to Fig. 17. Here you will find many things to edit. But the most important action in this step is setting up your default landing tab. Normally default landing tab is Wall if you didn’t change it previously.

1. Click the option Default Landing Tab. Select the option that you entered at time of naming your Page Tab Name in Step 8.

In this example, my application name is appjoinme and the page tab name is Join Me, which I have selected as my default landing tab shown in the following Fig. 17.

2. Click the button Save Changes at the bottom of this page.

Step 18:

You are in a page like Fig. 18.

1. Click the link Account at the top right corner of the page to get a drop down list where you will find Log Out at the bottom of list. Just select Log Out.

Step 19:

1. After logging out of your Facebook account, Type the URL of your Facebook landing page on the address bar of your browser.

Here I typed the URL http://www.facebook.com/pages/Debabrata-welcomes-you/165449700200074 of my Facebook landing page Debabrata welcomes you.

It looks like Fig. 19. It is my Facebook landing page Debabrata welcomes you where my recently created iFrame app Join Me has been populated. And if you notice the left hand side of the page you will find that my page tab name Join Me is highlighted.

Thanks you for your patience. If you are following the steps described in this tutorial, you already created your iFrame app. You also find that you are in your Facebook landing page with your recently created iFame app populated on it.

Remember that, you will get this view ( i.e. your iFrame app on your custom Facebook landing page) when you are not logged in that means when you are logged out.

The reason behind it …

When your people come and visit your Facebook landing page by clicking the reference link (e.g.Like Debabrata on Facebook) on your website, blog, newsletter or anything else, they will find your iFrame app on your Facebook landing page. This iFrame app will encourage them to like you. If they like you, they will click the Like button to join in your community and become your friends.

Conclusion:

I think this tutorial is little bit lengthy. Actually I tried to explain each and every activity in details that needed to create your Facebook iFrame app and add it to your Facebook landing page.

Before going into details, let us first know – what is Facebook landing page?

What is Facebook Landing Page?

A Facebook landing page is a simple page that you create on Facebook where you want your people to land and provide them enough reasons to like your page and become your fans. That’s why, it is also called fan page.

How do your people know about your Facebook Landing Page?

Your people means those people who are your customers, newsletter subscribers, blog readers, website viewers, friends community people or simply all those people, who have the same common interests that you have.

Normally, they won’t find your Facebook landing page until you provide them the address of your page. You need to provide the URL of your Facebook landing page on your website, blog posts, articles, newsletter, email signature or wherever you like… to help them find your custom Facebook landing page. They visit your Facebook landing page, become your fans or friends and get the privilege to communicate with you in any common topics thereafter.

So, it essentially improves your popularity by increasing your fan base or friend base.

If you don’t have your own Facebook Landing Page…

Normally when you register at Facebook, you will be at your default personal page provided by Facebook itself. Here you can see the wall where your normal communications with people can be seen. It is default page and you can’t customize its look and feel. On the other hand, when you create your own custom-made page on Facebook, you can control its look and feel and most importantly you can customize it according to your objectives.

You can create any number of custom landing pages on Facebook depending on your objectives.

Here in this tutorial, I am going to show you step-by-step how to create a custom Facebook landing page so that you can create your own landing page easily.

How to create Custom Facebook Landing Page in 12 easy steps!

Before proceeding further, here is my observation on Facebook for you.

Facebook is always experimenting with its look and functionalities to provide the best possible platform for the people and that’s the main reason they are making continuous changes in it.

Sometimes it irritates people. The methods that worked for months… don’t work now. It is quite obvious that the same thing will happen in the near future too.

So, whatever steps I put down here in this tutorial may not work in the future and it should be acceptable to all of us unless and until you ignore Facebook. This tutorial is published here is expected to be effective from October 2011 anticipating the changes made by Facebook till date.

Before proceeding to any of the following steps you need to have a Facebook account, otherwise there is no use of this tutorial.

Step 1:

1. Login into your Facebook account. 

You will be at your default personal page like Fig. 1. 

2. Here in this page you just go to the bottom and click the link Create a Page.

Step 2:

Now you are in a page like Fig. 2 where you can create your own page. 

Here you find different options like Local Business or Place or Company, Organization or Institution or Brand or Product and so on … I clicked on the option Artist, Band or Public Figure. You can select any other option provided by Facebook depending on your objectives.

1. Click the option that is appropriate to you..

Step 3:

Now you are in the same page with a different look (Fig. 3) where you need to select one of the categories that matches with your objectives.

1. Select the category that is appropriate to you.

2. Give a name to your page. It will be the name of your Facebook landing page or fan page. 

In this example in Fig. 3, I selected writer as my category and gave a name Debabrata likes you as my page name.

You can select any other category from any other option and give a name to your page.

3. Check the option I agree to Facebook Pages Terms (normally it is unchecked).

4. Press the button Get Started.

Step 4:

Now you are in Fig. 4. Here you need to set your profile picture that will be visible on your Facebook custom page.

1. Click the button Upload an Image.

There are two steps more to follow. They are not shown in this Fig. 4.

2. Browse your computer to select your image which must be less than 4MB in size.

3. Open it thereafter.

Step 5:

When upload is complete, you can view your image on Facebook page just like Fig. 5.

1. Just click the button Continue at the bottom of your page.

Step 6:

Now you are in a page, which is shown in Fig. 6. In this page, you can let your fans know about your page. You can invite them by clicking the button Invite Friends. You can send message to your subscribers or customers by importing their contacts here. To do this job, you need to click the button Import Contacts.

Otherwise you can do these steps later after setting up your page. I did the same thing in my example shown in Fig. 6. To go with the second option, you need to continue.

1. Click the button Continue at the right bottom corner of the page.

Step 7:

Now you are in a page, which is just like Fig. 7. Here you put some basic information about your website and yourself.

1. Enter your website URL in the textbox Website.

2. Enter your own information in the textbox About.

3. Click the button Continue.

Step 8:

You are in a page that is just like Fig. 8. Here you can view your landing page. 

In this example, you can see that I am in my own Facebook page Debabrata welcomes you created by me. Also notice my image at the left hand side of this page, which I uploaded in Step 4.

Here in this page, you can do all sorts of promotional activities such as Invite your friends, Tell your fans, Post status updates and Promote this page on your website to let your people know about your Facebook page or you can perform these activities later.

1. Click the button Edit Page at right top corner of the page.

Step 9:

You are in a page like Fig. 9, where you find that Manage Permissions tab is active at the left hand side. You don’t need to do anything here right now.

1. Just click the tab or link (whatever you call it) Basic Information to enter your personal information.

Step 10:

In this page (Fig. 10) you are going to put your basic information like Address, Affiliation, Birthday, About your Facebook page, your Biography, Awards if any, Gender, Personal Information, Personal Interests, Email, Phone and your Website.

One thing you need to remember that whatever you fill in this page that will be visible in your Info tab of your custom page.

1. Put your basic information that you want to show people.

In this page I have highlighted two major components for you.

The first one is Username. You can’t give a username to your custom page until you get at least 25 fans. Having an easy to remember username is always an advantage for you. It will provide your people an easy way to remember your Facebook page.

For example, if I have a username DebabrataDhar, it will be easy for you to remember my Facebook page and the URL will look like http://www.facebook.com/DebabrataDhar otherwise your page will have a URL like http://www.facebook.com/pages/your-page-name/15-digit-no.

Anyway, you will have the chance of getting an easy-to-remember username after you get more than 25 fans.

The second one is Name of your page. In this example, I have given a name Debabrata likes you to my Facebook page in Step 3. Just notice Fig. 10. You will find that the Name text box already has taken Debabrata likes you as my page name. You can keep the name as it is or you can change it here.

2. After your editing and updating are done, press the button Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Step 11:

You are in a page which is like Fig. 11 where you can see that whatever information you already entered, was updated.

1. To view your own custom Facebook page, just click the button View Page.

Step 12:

It’s done. If you were following the previous 11 steps described above, you already created your first custom Facebook landing page. The URL showing on the Fig. 12 is the URL of my Facebook page that I created in this example.

Just notice the URL. It is http://www.facebook.com/pages/Debabrata-welcomes-you/165449700200074. It is because of the fact that I don’t have 25 fans for this page.

Note down the URL of your landing page by copying it from the address bar of your browser. Alternatively, whenever you click on View Page just like Fig. 11 you will get the URL of your Facebook custom page.

The page similar to Fig.12 is your own custom Facebook page.

If you want people join at your custom Facebook landing page, you need to provide them this URL.

It is late. But never mind. It is better late than never.
